Author Martin Podskoch has edited a new hard cover book on Connecticut entitled “Connecticut 169 Club: Your Passport and Guide to Exploring Connecticut” which may be purchased for $24.95 at the West Haven Historical Society, 686 Savin Avenue across from the Green.
His book presents a concise history of all 169 towns and cities in Connecticut. The book features a narrative of the history of each town written by town and municipal historians and is enhanced with photographs of key local sites and museums within each town and city.
“It makes a perfect Holiday gift for anyone interested in Connecticut history and for out-of-state visitors to Connecticut. West Haven is featured in the New Haven County section of the book. Included in the information about the city, is a brief history of West Haven along with photographs of the Congregational Church on the Green as well as a photo of the play area “Where Angels Play” at Sea Bluff dedicated to Charlotte Bacon one of the children killed in the Sandy Hook School tragedy. Also listed are several familiar museums and historical sites available to residents, visitors, and tourists visiting the city.
An additional feature of the book is a travel log and notes section where people can record comments and memories of their visit to various town and cities throughout Connecticut.
